De Microsoft Courier is een tablet (specifieker: booklet) dat is uitgerust met twee 7 – inch touchscreens, handschriftherkening, tekenfunctie, een camera en wifi. Tenminsten.. dat was de bedoeling. Microsoft had al een prototype van deze tablet ontwikkeld. Echter was volgens Frank Shaw – woordvoerder Microsoft – de Courier slechts een experiment. Microsoft ontwikkelt vaker nieuwe apparaten en doen er dan tijden niets mee.

“At any given time, across any of our business groups, there are new ideas being investigated, tested, and incubated. It’s in Microsoft’s DNA to continually develop and incubate new technologies to foster productivity and creativity. The “Courier” project is an example of this type of effort and its technologies will be evaluated for use in future Microsoft offerings, but we have no plans to build such a device at this time.”

Voorlopig geen Microsoft tablet, ooit in de verre toekomst misschien. Only time will tell.
